Kentucky Schools for Haiti

May 24, 2010 Unikids Story by senait Edit

In the past, Unikids has been charged with donating school supplies to orphanages in developing countries. In light of the recent disaster in Haiti, it has been apparent for us to collect our efforts in helping children as much as we can.

The first phase of our campaign is to get children in parochial schools engaged in supporting their fellow school mates. We are asking the schools, parents, teachers, and students, to participate in this noble cause.

Donate school supply

End of school year is approaching and it is that time of the year where our children come home with their used school supplies. Most families do not reuse these school supplies the following year. If you are like most households, you have a collection of used markers, crayons, colored pencils, pencils, etc; but every year, you end up buying new supplies for your children. There is a possible solution for recycling school supplies!! We will collect your gently used school supplies, sort and organize the supplies, and get them ready to ship to schools in developing countries. Children in developing countries, usually, don’t have enough school supplies to last them throughout the year. The classrooms do not have enough supplies to replenish the on going need. The schools won’t have the budget and the parents don’t have enough income to equip their children with the basic school supplies. Above all, these schools and the children don’t mind at all to receive gently used school supplies. It is better to have something than nothing. Will you be able to participate in this win-win situation? You will not have to keep the unused school supplies year after year knowing that you will be buying new ones each year and the children in these developing countries will have school supplies that are usually considered a luxury to have in excess. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

Welcome to Unikids!

October 04, 2009 My Basement Story. by Senny Edit

The idea of recycling school supplies came to me when I realized that my children, at the end of each school year, come home with bags of used school supplies, put them away, and start their summer vacation. The supplies disappear unnoticed and unused. If you are like me and many parents, when school starts in August you end up buying new supplies, back packs, etc.
